A non-linear first-person shooter in which you find yourself on an island plunged into chaos. Like most zombie games you find yourself as one of the last remaining survivors in a horrendous nightmare.
This is the violent struggle of Dead Island, a holiday resort infested by the living dead. With no abundance of guns or explosives players are forced into hand to hand combat with these blood thirsty opponents. With the ability to turn normal everyday objects into zombie smashing tools of destruction you must prepare for a desperate fight and also be careful as your weapons deteriorate and become blunt.

The player starts of as a guest of a hotel on holiday which turns into a living nightmare. The storyline is a group of remaining survivors set out to escape the island and get to freedom. Dead Island is a story-based experience but has the ability for co-operative play, which up to four gamers can drop in and out of the game without a glitch.
The storyline and graphics is not the only thing to keep the player interested. The players traits will also improve as you smash and slash your way through the game. Not many details have been released but apparently there will be a levelling system and a skill tree. As the player progresses, his stats will increase and he'll gain access to new combat abilities and animations.
